Career Horoscopes (week beginning 19th December)

Your Career Horoscope for the week commencing December 19, 2011 by Peter Watson

ARIES   Mar 21 - Apr 20
Try not to let your enthusiasm for getting things signed, sealed and delivered mean that your life becomes unbearably stressful.   You may think it’s important  that you’re seen to be a completer-finisher - in other words the kind of person who makes sure that deadlines are met and budgets adhered to.  But right now as the Sun makes its way to the most powerful point in your chart you’re being given the chance to show those in positions of authority that you can be flexible and adaptable in your thinking.   That means that, as new challenges present themselves and you have to make adjustments to existing and on-going commitments, it’s important to prove that you can handle every last bit of it without going into a panic. There’s some fun to fit in too, isn’t there?  

TAURUS  Apr 21 - May 21
At first you might think that someone presenting some new ideas linked to your work or financial situation is invading your privacy.   But do bear in mind the fact that Venus is taking up a position within a very serious and public section of your chart.  And you need to evaluate very carefully exactly what’s on offer.   You see it’s likely that you’re being invited to become part of a scene out of which could come a great deal of recognition and eventually rich rewards.   None of this should be discarded lightly.   So look in your diary and find time to include at least one meaningful discussion with this person who may very well be knocking on your door any day now.  It’s likely to enrich the last part of December rather than spoil it. 

GEMINI  May 22 - Jun 21
You may be in the habit of handling a particular situation on your own.  However, as the Sun enters the section of your chart governing collaboration and collusion you’ll be made aware of the way in which somebody’s becoming extremely keen to join forces with you.  You mustn’t give in to that slightly sceptical streak in you that sometimes comes to the fore.  Yes, you should of course make sure that you’re not about to be used in a way that you won’t like.  But surely you know the people around you well enough to be able to trust what they say, don’t you?   Also your instincts will be telling you whether or not the suggestions being made are likely to work for you or against you.  There’s nothing like togetherness and team-work right now.

CANCER   Jun 22 - Jul 23
Something innovative and possibly unusual must not be allowed to eclipse every other aspect of your life.  And there’s one person in particular who is likely to feel rather let down if you suddenly get caught up in a creative or productive plan which threatens to take up more time, energy and effort than you can honestly afford to give it.   Yes, it is flattering to be invited to contribute to something completely new and ingenious.   But if you’re honest with yourself you’ll have to admit that you’re already committed in other areas and to renege on those arrangements could cause immense relationship problems.   This is why you have to take care not to allow a run-in between Uranus and the Sun to confuse your thinking as to where your priorities truly lie. 

LEO   Jul 24 - Aug 23 
Occasionally you might ponder on why new and urgent priorities constantly present themselves out of the blue.   But it would be more productive to simply get on with doing what has to be done rather than reflect on problem areas of the past and why you haven’t been able to tie up loose ends.  With the Sun entering the most conscientious section of your chart you are being given the perfect opportunity to grapple with a backlog of chores and bring them to completion.  And to do that you’ll obviously have to steer clear of any distractions or diversions along the way.  Yes, one or two people might be offended but they’ll have to wait for some attention from you.  What you gain by adopting this new attitude will make it all worthwhile.  

VIRGO  Aug 24 - Sep 23
Even though you might need to be a bit tougher than usual with some of your colleagues, friends or associates you needn’t worry that you’ll suddenly become extremely unpopular.  If investing in some kind of scheme or project requiring commitment and concentration it’s not going to work unless those  around you are pulling their weight too.   So trust the fact that Venus is changing signs to mean that you can offer some rather serious and meaningful advice and guidance in a voice that lets people know that you’re still very much on their side.  Don’t forget that you can be extremely good when it comes to relationships because you usually know how to combine being business-like with enough warmth and kindness to ensure that you all still remain on the same side, working together.

LIBRA  Sep 24 - Oct 23
As you begin to mastermind one or two tricky transactions you mustn’t doubt yourself.   Jupiter at right-angles to Venus suggests you may wonder whether you have sufficient creativity and ingenuity to ensure that the end results are impressive.   However, you should focus on the fact that there’s at least one other person with whom you’re able to collaborate so as to ensure that the outcomes are always positive.  Ignore that voice in the back of your mind that occasionally causes you to question your abilities.  Instead take on board what’s being suggested to you by those who know just how productive you can be when you put your mind to it.   Would it take so much for you to believe in yourself to the extent that others believe in you?   Give it a try.

SCORPIO  Oct 24 - Nov 22
Work and responsibilities may warrant much of your time and attention but perhaps you would be even more productive if you were to integrate more love and laughter into your life.  And the Sun’s spat with Uranus suggests it’s time for you to listen to one or two people who are anxious to steer you in the right direction.   On one level you might think they are interfering.  But on another level you probably should accept that they want what is best for you.  So even if their tactics are a little bit clumsy and clunky, you should consider the essence of whatever they are trying to tell you.  Don’t even worry about the possibility of this kind of conversation leading to a row.  It needn’t happen provided you don’t become defensive or difficult. 

SAGITTARIUS  Nov 23 - Dec 21
It might be worth looking at your assets and resources and working out whether or not you could invest fairly heavily in something which promises to bring healthy returns.   Certainly with the Sun making its way into the solid and responsible sign of Capricorn, you should be able to spot any problems a mile off.   But that’s not to say that there aren’t areas in which it’s easy to make an error of judgment or miscalculation which could jeopardise whatever you are intending to do.  So make absolutely sure that the facts and figures being presented can be trusted and that the same can be said for those with whom you’re meant to be collaborating.   And perhaps most important of all is the fact that nothing is meant to be done in a hurry.

CAPRICORN  Dec 22 - Jan 20
Anyone suggesting that you’re not able to take on a new challenge is not to be believed.   With Venus making its way into a section of your chart governing your work and resources, it’s important not to allow self-doubt to devalue all that you have at your fingertips.   Compare your skills and strengths with those of some of your colleagues or associates and you should see that you’re certainly not trailing behind them.   And even if you were in one or two areas, don’t you realise that you have the strength and determination to catch them up and overtake them before too long.   It’s time to stop and think about what you might not be able to do and remind everyone of what you definitely can - and will - do any day now!

AQUARIUS  Jan 21 - Feb 19
Colleagues or associates have been having doubts and misgivings about a plan that requires special skills if it’s to have a good outcome.   And they’ve perhaps been suggesting that there is a lot more to you than meets the eye.  Certainly with Venus entering your sign you’re about to go through a phase during which you’ll be extremely good at evaluating the true worth - or otherwise - of ideas about which others don’t have a clue.   And of course you’ll know how important it is not to sound critical or judgmental when you have to point out that you’re more of an expert on the subject than they are.   Be glad that tact and diplomacy are about to become second nature to you at the point at which they’re needed most. 

PISCES  Feb 20 - Mar 20
Resist the tendency to tell too many people about some innovative plans. The Sun’s clash with Uranus suggests you may be so keen to discuss what’s on your mind that you invite certain others to take advantage of you.   You may not think that anyone close by is inclined to poach or steal from you one particular idea which is likely to have a great deal going for it.  But you’ll be slightly naive if you honestly believe that that kind of thing doesn’t happen.  It does.  And even though you may be dealing with someone who isn’t quite aware of what’s going on you must carefully safeguard something original and inspired which truly belongs to you.    You don’t have to appear cagey or over-possessive.  But you do have look after your own interests.
