Peter's Career Horoscopes (week beginning 11th September)

Your career horoscope for the week commencing 11th September by Peter Watson.

ARIES Mar 21 - Apr 20
Once again you need to turn your attention to all those everyday – possibly fairly boring – tasks and responsibilities which other people seem to shirk.  Normally you find a way to get on with all this without too much complaint.  However in this case you might take a different approach and remind others that it probably is their turn to roll up their sleeves and help you out.  Mercury allied to Mars in a conscientious but caring section of your chart suggests that you’ll make a good job of talking these individuals around to your point of view.  But you have to make sure that Mars doesn’t bring out a rather over-assertive streak in you so that one particular person feels you’re being a bit of a bully.  That’s to be avoided at all costs.

TAURUS Apr 21 – May 21
When you first hear of an unexpected opportunity or opening you’ll be undecided as to whether or not you should take advantage of it.  By midweek, however, as you’re feeling the effect of Saturn’s liaison with Venus, you might decide you really do need to cash in on this new development.  Almost certainly it will involve funding, cash changing hands and some aspects of your business or domestic life which, although not in dire straits, could benefit from a bit of a boost.  While Venus helps you recognise the true value of this venture you’ll also have Saturn reminding you to keep your eye on boundaries, structures and deadlines.  It seems that you could be all set for a profitable and fruitful experience, provided your moves are steady, well-balanced and considered very carefully indeed.

GEMINI May 22 - Jun 21
Other people may try to dissuade you from investing your time, talents or hard cash in a scheme or piece of work in which you have more trust than they do.  And that’s fine provided you don’t become irritated when it seems they’re endeavouring to control you and your activities.  In fact you’ll be far better placed to make decisions than they will because your sixth sense will be pin-sharp with the Moon making a strong connection to Neptune which is occupying a powerful section of your chart.  Try to let the Moon help you access your sixth sense and your innermost thoughts and feelings so that the interventions of others are less impactful than what you feel in your heart, and you know in your mind, to be right for you.

CANCER Jun 22 - Jul 23
Uranus hovering over a vital point in your chart is still retrograde or appearing to travel backwards.  This might help explain why, when faced with something surprising, you’re taken aback rather more than you would be at other times.  You may even decide that you don’t like to be caught unawares, especially regarding your career or your image.  This week Uranus forms a positive link with Venus, which could be a good thing because with Venus in one of the financial sections of your chart you should be able to capitalise on something that turns up out of the blue and offers you a means of boosting your career or putting money in the bank.  Just make sure that you check all the facts and figures very carefully indeed before signing on the dotted line.

LEO Jul 24 - Aug 23
Much as you might feel entitled to inject some creativity and imagination into areas of your work or your on-going commitments you might need to make doubly sure that you won’t be compromising yourself in some way.  After all, your ruler the Sun is at right angles to Saturn so it is very important that you are seen to do everything by the book this week.  This doesn’t mean of course that you cannot add variations and ornamentations to whatever you’re doing.  But it’s crucial that you can defend your actions or any decisions you make if at some point people watching from the sidelines decide to challenge you and your new, more inventive approach to areas in which you have followed a conventional way of working more often than not.

VIRGO Aug 24 - Sep 23
Capitalise on having Venus in a section of your chart that governs your instincts and your intuition.  It suggests that when colleagues, peers or companions introduce new ideas or ways of working you can rely on your sixth sense to help you gauge whether or not to go ahead with whatever is being put forward.  Also, Venus is joining forces with Uranus at a point when a fairly major partnership, property, business or financial matter is coming up for discussion.  And with Uranus involved there could be some rather unusual factors to consider very carefully.  Be glad that the cosmos is helping you see that, although it’s sometimes very good for you to let the new and the unconventional into your life, it is vital that you weigh up the advantages against the potential risks.

LIBRA Sep 24 - Oct 23
Try not to panic as you take a broad view of all the work and other responsibilities you have to tend to over the next few days.  You’ll be in danger of becoming rather pessimistic about meeting all your commitments.  This is why it’s so important that you make use of the way in which the Moon hovering over the most potent point in your chart is encouraging you to listen to an inner voice telling you to rearrange your priorities very carefully indeed.  Yes, there are one or two things that must be done, no matter how demanding they may be.  But there are others which can wait.  And the fact that Neptune is joining forces with the Moon is a reminder that you need to deal in realism rather than fantasy.

SCORPIO Oct 24 - Nov 22
A certain group of people will feel entitled to advise you on how to handle your finances or make best use of your assets and resources.  And although in principle you won’t object to their interventions you might start to wonder whether they really do know what they are talking about.  One or two facts coming to light might well suggest that these individuals are not as sure of their facts as they claim to be.  And with the Sun at right angles to Saturn you’ll feel very strongly that everything has to be scrutinised carefully to make sure that it’s watertight and fireproof.  Yes, you might cause a little bit of upset and irritation if you question these individuals about the accuracy of information they’re offering you.  But it has to be done.

SAGITTARIUS Nov 23 - Dec 21
For some while you’ve waited for the perfect opportunity to mention a new idea to a colleague, companion or employer.  It’s not that you’re shy, necessarily. It’s just that you’ve been wondering whether or not it’s appropriate to step forward and see whether people with whom you work or pursue some kind of common interest will welcome whatever you have to put to them.  You may think they’re a great deal more experienced or talented than you are.  Even so, you must find your voice and let it be heard.  And this is a good time to do just that because you’re feeling the build-up to Mercury’s positive link with Mars which is going to help you approach the matter sounding fluent, well-informed and assertive – but without being in the least bit arrogant or over-confident.

CAPRICORN Dec 22 - Jan 20
In the back of your mind you have some strong feelings about a joint financial or professional matter that was never given the chance to flourish.  The reason for it having been curtailed won’t seem as important as how strongly you believe that it has to be given a second chance.  And this is a good time to see what can be done, especially as your ruler Saturn is collaborating with Venus to help you gauge very accurately the chances of this venture being successful.  With Saturn insisting that all calculations and projections are scrutinised very carefully you are not about to take any risks.  Meanwhile, Venus will be helping you calculate the true value of going ahead with this project which for some reason will soon be very close to your heart.

AQUARIUS Jan 21 - Feb 19
Some kind of joint enterprise might not be bringing in the results you had hoped for.  And although there’s no need for you to feel entirely despondent about it you will wonder whether some of the other people involved aren’t pulling their weight.  This could of course be a difficult suggestion to put forward because it will sound highly critical – and probably offensive – if handled in the wrong way.  So you have to rely on the fact that Mercury and Mars are joining forces with one another to help you find the right kind of articulacy, diplomacy and assertiveness to handle this tricky situation.  Yes, you might prefer to let sleeping dogs lie but you really can’t afford to if business is likely to suffer.  Promise yourself you’ll raise the matter sooner rather than later.

PISCES Feb 20 - Mar 20
It won’t take you long to calculate the likely profit if you enter into a deal that’s somewhat unusual but certainly not beyond your scope.  You’re being aided and abetted by Venus, the planet of values, as it joins forces with Saturn.  And of course Saturn is well known for encouraging boundaries, precision and caution at all times when there is even the slightest risk involved.  This is why you should feel confident that you can pursue this matter further.  But you absolutely must promise yourself that you will bring things to a sudden halt if any new evidence arises to suggest that you are taking too much of a gamble.  It’s all about getting the balance right as you strive to be go-getting and forward-thinking but at the same time pragmatic and realistic.
