March is a volatile month of fire and water. Our imaginations and emotions flourish, and we look forward to the new season. What will it bring?

2nd March: Venus travels through Aquarius until 27th March. Love and creativity are linked to the internet, to charitable organisations, and to unusual experiments in living. Librans, Aquarians, and Geminis are likely enjoy this more than most. 

3rd March: The Moon’s Nodes enter Sagittarius. Discovery and adventure, knowledge and passion are all underlying themes for the year to come. We want to learn about philosophy and create new guidelines for living well this year.

4th March: A new Moon rises in dream-weaving Pisces. Read all about it in the Moon Diary.

6th March: The Sun and Saturn say this is a good day for hard, concentrated work. Keep going.

9th March: Mercury enters go-for-it Aries, then links with Uranus, the Lunar Nodes and Neptune.  Who’s fooling who? Round and round and round she goes. Where she lands, nobody knows. Avoid gambling with your time, your cash or your heart and nurture your own inspirations.

10th March: When lovers become friends, and friends become lovers. That’s possible today. And be aware that there’s much temptation to splurge when shopping, or planning a holiday.

12th March: Uranus enters Aries for a long stay. It remains in this sign until 2019. During these years individual rights and self-expression are given a revolutionary, eccentric boost by Uranus in Aries. We will be prepared to fight for our rights, and in some countries sudden demonstrations and uprisings will overturn the status quo. This can be a war-like influence too, as the urge for freedom becomes very strong and focussed.  Aries is also the sign of beginnings, symbolising the dawn of a new era. It does not look like an easy birth, for these forces are up against Pluto in conventional Capricorn, the sign of government.  In our own lives, these feelings express themselves through a desire to run away, destroy existing structures and relationships, or make unconventional changes. If your birthday falls in the early days of a sun sign, you’ll be among the first to notice this potent force for change in your personal life.  We are also experiencing what’s called a Moon wobble, a period of tension (signified by the angular relationship of the Sun to the nodal axis) when it’s better to hold off on making important decisions. Sometimes this tension creates turmoil – emotional, physical, or political. The Earth may be in turmoil too in the form of wild weather, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. This volatile phase lasts until about a week after the approaching full Moon on the 19th. Hold on to your hats.

15th March: What kind of relationship do you want? What kind of relationship have you got? Many of us feel we want more commitment today, but that may be a rational decision. Our emotions and desires could be saying something else.

19th March: A spectacular full Moon rises in meticulous Virgo. For more information please do read the Moon Diary. This will appear to be the largest, brightest full Moon of the year.

20th March: Spring Equinox.  The Sun enters Aries at 23.22pm, where it embraces spiky Uranus tonight and tomorrow. The Moon’s Nodes connect with the Galactic Centre until the end of the month. Today’s patterns set the scene for the spring quarter. It’s explosive, it’s about fate and freedom, and it may take us all by surprise. But we’ll learn a lot.

24th March: Musicians, archaeologists, and architects should flourish today. Anything needing both structure and inspiration is in the spotlight as Saturn connects to Neptune. Elsewhere in the cosmos, serious vibes are brewing.

26th March: Romance with a great big capital R hovers around for some of us. Perhaps it’s all a dream. But we don’t care.  It’s a day to be kind to ourselves and others, and a luminous day for music, movies, and poetry.

27th March: Venus enters Pisces, where the planet of love and attraction is very happy indeed in the coming days. Listen to beautiful music, or stare at the sky if you can. Spring love blends sensuality and spirituality into an alchemy of bliss for some, an experience of sacrifice for others.

28th March: Jupiter opposes Saturn, and the Sun squares Pluto today and tomorrow, the 29th.  These are heavyweight days when a serious mood prevails.  Mostly, it’s about power struggles of one kind or another. Rules and regulations seem to stifle progress or imagination out there in the world, or in our own lives. But there may be some tender emotions in our hearts too.

30th March: Mercury turns retrograde in Aries until 23rd April, but confusing effects will tend to linger until 11th May. It’s time to plan with great care, and factor in extra time on journeys, or when sending documents or packages. Computers reveal just how mad they really are. But it’s a productive period to review, rewind, or re-think plans.

31st March: Water swirls around in the news, and individual emotions are running high. Some of us revel in feeling bewitched or mystical.  Get-rich-quick schemes are too good to be true. Hold on to your hard-earned cash.
