ARIES

Hidden thoughts surface, and routines are disrupted on and off all month long. Much of the time it is the merry month of May for you, with Venus in Gemini and Mars in Leo bringing chatty friends and flirty admirers into your world. But from mid-May onwards you will often be too busy or distracted to notice. Larger events loom, and around the 19th you’ll have a lot to think about regarding your direction in life. Love and ambition are not always compatible, but you can find a way to juggle them if you just keep your options open. Electrifying planet Uranus enters Aries on 28th May, opening up a brand new phase for you. Voyages of discovery meet learning curves, but you’ll rise to the challenge. You are, after all, an Aries. Onwards and upwards!

TAURUS

How do you express your inner beliefs and values? Are you able to channel them into your intimate private life? And how about your career choices? The questions you ask yourself this month are important, because being authentic in your life is the path to satisfaction and fulfilment. Discovering what, and who, really matters to you is part of this process. Dynamic aspects affect us all between the 15th and the 22nd May, and those involving your ruling planet, Venus, suggest that if you step back a little you’ll be able to see the bigger picture. You may be dealing with a confusing tangle of things, but Mercury in Taurus is turned into an ace detective by Pluto between the 19th and 21st. Your incisive insights may astound you.

GEMINI

Big planets making dynamic patterns continue to focus on matters concerning the structure of your life. For many of you, this means your career. For others it’s all about family relationships, or a close ongoing business partnership. Some of these issues can’t be resolved immediately, and you might have to be patient until September or October – not your favourite thing, but there it is. It’s worth remembering that sometimes things solve themselves in unexpected ways, because situations change and what you fret about today may simply be a drain on your energy tomorrow. Keep a very open mind around the 18th and 19th, and let love, help, or fresh inspiration find a lasting place in your heart. 

CANCER

The renewal of one friendship or association this month will not only make you smile, it could reawaken creative ideas or restore your resolve to make something special happen. You’re approaching an important summer. It’s a time when others have a major role to play in your world – how you relate to them, and how they inspire you (or otherwise) could shape big decisions, or set you on a new path. Negative types have no place in your future, and from mid-month this becomes ever clearer. You’re sentimental and caring, so it’s often difficult for you to let things go. But sometimes you must distance yourself, or talk openly about your needs instead of bottling everything up. Once you start, you’ll be amazed how much better you feel. 

LEO

If you think back to May 2000, you might begin to glimpse a pattern that’s been unfolding for the past decade. The direction you took then, or decisions you made around that time are now up for review.  What works? What needs restoring or refreshing in some way? Something you value may not mean so much to someone else, and if this means a close relationship or business association then its time to lay your cards on the table and find out where you stand. You have more love and support around you than you realise, and confiding in someone you trust will help you order your thoughts. Between the 15th and 21st of May there’s confusion and romance aplenty, so make sure you leave yourself a little time to think. It’s just the start.

VIRGO

This year’s ongoing tensions may seem stressful, but they are encouraging you to make changes that will prove beneficial. Eventually. And this spring and early summer could be the best time to finally make those overdue decisions, or simply make up your mind to stop worrying quite so much about those things you cannot change. Yes, worry is your middle name. But you can take it too far sometimes. Venus in Gemini until the 20th activates your inner flirt from time to time, and this might be exactly what you need. Your romantic spirit is as delicate as the scent of spring flowers, and finding an outlet for it is one of the most healing things you can do for yourself. Think travel, study, or planning to make secret dreams come true.

LIBRA

What has been hidden drives you mad, but all will be revealed later on this summer. There is little point in making decisions based on vague hunches, or pressing others to co-operate with you.  If you act too soon, you’ll just have to redo everything later on. So count to ten, twenty, a hundred before you say anything you can’t take back. This is both the end of a cycle and the tentative beginning of a brand new era. You’re in transition, on an important journey towards a different future. This means love for some, career changes for others, and much else besides. September birthdays may be the first to notice, as electrifying Uranus makes its first foray into Aries on the 28th. Use your time wisely, and give yourself permission to enjoy nature, beauty, and love. 

SCORPIO

You know you should be thinking about your career, but you also know you need to think about more intimate, personal things. Perhaps a spiky atmosphere at home is draining you, or you’re unable to agree with a partner on what to do next. Certainly, you’re not alone in experiencing this month’s push-me-pull-you atmosphere, as conversations with close friends will reveal.  Between the 15th and 19th of May you can grab inspiration as it flies past, and come up with ideas or suggestions that spring straight from your heart. You may spread bewitchment or bewilderment, but by being true to your own values you’ll achieve more than you might believe possible.  Resources are one of May’s major themes. But soulfulness is beyond price.

SAGITTARIUS

Your ruling planet, Jupiter, moves towards a major standoff with Saturn this May, and a major connection with Uranus at the beginning of June.  Relationships, associations, and financial decisions are all in the spotlight – but don’t panic, you’ll have a year or so to make choices and think about what you want and need. Someone you love is waiting to lighten your load, or make you laugh yourself silly. And around the 19th you’ll see that a steady routine and a cautious approach might serve you best for now. No, not very glamorous I agree. But even thrilling and imaginative ideas need a firm foundation. Romantically, neighbours or workmates could surprise you with passionate declarations or hot pursuit. Your own full Moon on the 27th lights the path.

CAPRICORN

May begins relatively quietly for you, and with the Sun in Taurus you might even luxuriate in some sensual romance.  Soak it up, and enjoy every delicious moment of idle pleasure. Not only do you deserve some unscheduled fun, you need time to find balance in your life. Whether this means home improvements, moving house, or spending more time with family and friends, it’s becoming crystal clear that your current lifestyle needs a little tender loving care and maybe a few changes too. This summer’s eclipses in Capricorn and Cancer, plus other dramatic activity involving Cardinal signs like yours means that you’re already feeling restless and driven. What happens around the 18th makes you smile and shows you the way to proceed.

AQUARIUS

Sometimes you feel as if you’re balancing on a tightrope, stretched high above your admiring audience. They can’t see all the intense focus and effort you’ve been pouring into your act; you’ve tricked them into believing it all comes naturally. Well, perhaps it’s time to admit you need some support?  Someone close is just waiting to be asked. Spreading the load also frees up your amazingly inventive side. Romance and creativity are influenced by skittish Venus in Gemini until the 20th, and beguiling moments around the 18th and 19th May could both delight and puzzle you. Yes, you like to have control, but with the planets in their current mood you’re better off with supple moves and dancing feet. Practise now, and you’ll be ready for anything. 

PISCES

You’ve been musing for months without finding the answersss. Are you driving yourself nuts? Perhaps so, but May brings interesting opportunities, inspirations and possibilities. Hard work and effort are needed to make the most of it all, but between the 15th and 21st you’ll see what you really want, and you’ll make up your mind to get it. A partner or longstanding friend might seem to pour ice cold water on your plans, but if you can get them on your side they’ll offer tremendous loyalty and practical help. You’re a brilliant negotiator, so chances are you can make this happen.  Venus enters Cancer on the 20th, promising softer, squishier romantic moments and some fine dreams. It’s complicated out there, but if anyone can find fulfilment it’s you.
