ARIES
Changing your routines sounds rather dull, but in fact you’ll enjoy it. Really. And if you can get things organised before the 19th, so much the better. Once Mars, your energy source, enters fiery Leo, you’ll be focusing on romance, creativity, and playfulness more than usual. But there are still pesky tensions around from last year, and oh how you wish they would go away. Maybe you need to talk to someone close to you? Or take advice from someone who’s an old soul? Towards the end of September both the equinox, on the 23rd, and a Libran new Moon on the 27th, point in the direction of co-operation, conversation, and the kindness of strangers. Whether it’s love, career, or home-sweet-home that’s on your mind, don’t go it alone. Co-operative moves work best.

TAURUS
With the Sun and Venus in compatible Virgo the first two weeks of September could be creative and delightful for you. So please don’t go on a guilt trip about work or your ambitions. It is pointless. You’ll have plenty of pressure to deal with once Mars enters Leo on the 19th, followed by the equinoctial Sun in Libra on the 23rd, and a punchy new Moon on the 27th. Then it will be hard for you to avoid lots of work, and you’ll have little time to yourself at home. Instead, you could be building up your inner reserves of pleasure and joy during early September, and paying your beloved some quality attention. If you’re lonely and looking for someone special, then around the 11th looks like a good time to be open to the bewitchments of the cosmic dating agency.

GEMINI
This is a month of scintillating ideas and discoveries as your mind returns to normal speed, and you begin to look around you. Just be prepared to be a little bit patient before making big commitments, or talking about your ideas too soon. You hate to hold back, but really, this would be wise. After the 19th, your social life becomes quite ridiculous and many of you will be cramming your diaries to bursting point. Leave a little space for the unexpected and spontaneous, especially towards the end of September. There are dreamy, arty types around then who could inspire you, seduce you, or simply make you look at the world in a new way. If you’re too busy, you might miss some wonderful opportunities to steer your life in a very interesting direction.

CANCER
Your energy and drive continue to impress everyone, which is good – but you find yourself wanting depth, soulfulness, and time to brood too. Mid-September conversations bristle with signposts for you to consider under an emotional, inspirational Pisces full Moon. Being you, you’ll need time to sift through everything before you know what you want to do next. Home and family need lots of attention later this month, and you need to think about how your ambitions or dreams might affect them. Your responsibilities are highlighted by a potent new Moon on the 27th, when you’ll begin to see how you can balance everything more successfully. Everything you’ve battled with over the past couple of years is evolving, and soon you’ll see just how much your life has been transformed already. There’s more to come.

LEO
Contemplating your treasure chest amuses you as September begins. And while sparkling bits and pieces catch your eye, there’s more to it than that. Your talents and unique abilities must be dusted off and cherished too if you’re to make the utmost of Jupiter in Taurus and other helpful cosmic conditions. Once Mars enters Leo on the 19th your vitality blossoms, promising a season of progress and decisive moves. Neptune is still messing with your love life, but you’ve entered a time of reviewing what the past few years have meant to you and are, we hope, less inclined to be beguiled by illusions of romance. No, you want the real thing in love, career, and self- expression. You know this requires hard work and dedication, but you’re more than ready to begin. Giving up on delusions makes room for dreams that have a good chance of coming true.

VIRGO
Get moving early this month and you’ll benefit from some wonderfully expansive, earthy energy. Your ruling planet, Mercury, is moving forwards at normal speed too, and this means you’re in the mood to catch up with old friends and maybe even make some new ones. If you’re looking for love or simply some good contacts then early September is the time to get out there and accept invitations, or smile at delightful strangers. If you’re in a relationship, then the full Moon on the 12th opens up possibilities for important conversations, or reaffirming your deepest feelings for one another. Accepting love and affection can be difficult for you sometimes, but once you do you’ll feel more confident about your secret plans for adventure, study, or even moving home.

LIBRA
Do you ever get the feeling that you’re waiting in the wings, ready to go out on stage and captivate your audience? Or do you simply feel as if you’re waiting for things to change around you? You’ve been dealing with many important and stressful situations, and perhaps you’ve been distracted from your biggest dreams or felt held back in some mysterious way. So welcome a brief opportunity to reflect upon the past few years, and look at what you’d like to change or improve. Thanks to sober Saturn you’re more realistic now, and able to see how tiny steps can be just as effective as dramatic moves. Later this month both Mars and Venus are nicely placed for love, socialising, or making helpful new contacts. Allow yourself to be surprised.

SCORPIO
Sharing a project with others isn’t really your style, but if the group is small enough and compatible enough, you’ll love the experience. Not only that, you’ll benefit from it in unexpected ways. Opportunities to meet up with old friends or workmates this month can inspire you, and while things may be slow to begin with they will move along nicely if you can be patient and optimistic. Romantically, too, things could be slow but that doesn’t mean nothing’s happening, as events around the time of this month’s full Moon on the 12th make very clear to you. Mars enters Leo on the 19th, bringing a more dynamic energy to your working life and perhaps some unexpected changes to your daily routines too. Resist the temptation to have everything your own way, you can call the shots in October so, for now, let flexibility be your strategy.

SAGITTARIUS
Delays and distractions during August begin to melt away as Mercury, planet of the mind, picks up speed in early September. Phew. And one way or another you should benefit from helpful people, especially women, all month.  Welcome support and advice with open arms and you’ll see how much easier life could be. A rollicking Pisces full Moon on the 12th illuminates home and family matters, and for a time you must be practical. But shared projects and some social fun and games will make up for all the hard work that lies ahead. Mars in compatible Leo from the 19th promises an energetic phase, and springs a few surprises around the 23rd. Perfect your innate talent for multi-tasking and don’t be too surprised if romantic frissons or creative ideas change your long-term plans.

CAPRICORN
The wonderful world of ideas and possibilities has been a somewhat confusing, frustrating place this summer. Adjusting long-range ambitions or plans hasn’t worked too well, or so it seems. So, now what? Wait until Mercury picks up speed in earthy Virgo after the 9th and you’ll see how subtle changes have occurred when you weren’t looking. Reassessing your plans, or even your feelings, makes sense. Towards the end of September you’ll really want to focus on future plans, but there’s no point in trying to nail everything down too early. This, by the way, includes your love life. Single Capricorns may be amazed by a blast from the past that ignites old passions and brings both happiness and confusion. Coupled up? Sorting out some lingering problems from the past will boost love and affection. Just talk.

AQUARIUS
You’re usually curious and open-minded about most things. But lately you haven’t known what to think, or maybe even wondered who’s writing the script of your life. If others have been unreliable or hard to read then don’t waste time blaming yourself. Certain financial matters have been more or less out of your control for a while, plus you seem to be attracting more than your fair share of eccentric or unpredictable people. Have patience and try to make time for yourself this month. There are some outstanding possibilities waiting for you, but they may not be conventional ones. Similarly, love and romance – even with a partner you’re committed to – are likely to surprise you. You’ve got months to reassess home and family matters, so why not allow the universe to sprinkle some unconventional possibilities in your path? You can make up your mind later.

PISCES
Your own annual full Moon rises on the 12th September, bringing deep conversations and strong emotions to the surface. Not only does someone close to you want to talk, but you’ll find friends and family are also in the mood for some intimate revelations too. Much of this is likely to be about what happened in the past, since both your planetary rulers – Jupiter and Neptune - are now travelling backwards, encouraging a fresh look at what’s happened. All of this helps to clear some mental and emotional space, ready for what promises to be a hard-working autumn of new routines or even an energetic new pet. Keep your eye on the bigger picture, and unusual opportunities to improve finances or even change direction should come knocking at your door.
