Cosmic Weather: your weekly astro-almanac

by Jane Lyle

Monday 24th – Sunday 30th September

Energy builds up all week as one hell of a full Moon approaches on the 30th. Certainly it’s time for dogs to tilt back their heads and howl.

In between times, though, I do believe there’s some fun to be had too.

Monday, 24th September and beyond: Optimism, humour, and bright ideas flow for the next few days, particularly for Geminis, Librans and Aquarians. Aries, Leos and Sagittarians also get a nice boost. One way or another everyone has a great deal to say.

Meanwhile, in another part of the cosmos, it’s getting quite steamy as Venus and Mars challenge each other all week long from Leo and Scorpio. Both signs are known for their passion. Both planets are linked with love, romance, creativity, and sex. Leo birthdays from around the 12th – 18th August, and Scorpio birthdays from 11th – 17th November are energised. Taurus and Aquarius may also notice something sizzling – birthdays are 9th – 16th May, and 7th – 14th February.

Alternatively, as you know, planets at the relevant degrees in your own natal chart will be switched on. The degrees are between 18 and 26 of Leo, Scorpio, Taurus and Aquarius. If you don’t know your natal chart, you can always ask an astrologer.

Friday, 28th September: ‘If I could do anything about the way people behave towards each other I would. But since I can’t, I stick to animals.’

Happy birthday to Brigitte Bardot, French actress, singer, and dedicated animal rights campaigner, born on 28th September 1934

Bardot is one of the great style icons of cinema – her raw sexuality, her pout, and her tousled blonde hair have never really gone out of fashion with sexy stars, and lesser wannabes too. But she got there first. Bardot was a flirtatious Libran indeed, an erotic free spirit. Her first mentor and husband, film director Roger Vadim, said of her:

‘Although she had a gift for infidelity, she always suffered if she had an affair with more than one man at a time.’

Ah, Librans, romantic to the core…..

Sunday, 30th September: The Harvest full Moon rises at 7 degrees of fiery Aries. It’s erratic, it’s intuitive, it’s barking mad. It plugs into the big themes of our times, connecting with the dance of Pluto and Uranus. There is more in the Moon Diary.
