When you’re looking at compatibility from an Astrological perspective what most people look at are the Sun signs.
The Sun signs show where in the heavens the Sun was at the time of your birth.
But, there are many more aspects in someone’s chart which can determine compatibility. So what we’re going to look at in more depth this week are the Moon signs.
If you think of the Sun signs as your personality and that which people can immediately see when they meet you, then the moon signs are the opposite. It’s the part of you that isn’t always visible or obvious. In relationships the moon sign is incredibly important because they govern the emotions and how you handle them!
So, for example if we were to look at two people, let’s say one of them has their sun sign in Libra and the other has their sun sign in Pisces. On the surface it’s not the best of matches because when you look at the elements, the air (Libra) bubbles through water (Pisces) and agitates it! So, it could be said in a relationship between a Libran and Pisces there could be lots of little niggles and tensions with things not running quite as smoothly as it would say had it been a connection between a Capricorn and Pisces. Capricorn being an earth sign and water (Pisces) as an element finding it’s home in earth.
But, let’s say for example that the Libran has a Pisces moon and as luck would have it the Pisces has a Libran moon, then we are in business, because on the emotional level (even though looking at things at face value there could be tension) each will really understand the other, because the Pisces will handle their emotions similar to how a Libra handles their day to day life and vice versa.
It’s fascinating when you really start looking at all of the planets and how they interact and it just goes to show that two people who on the surface may not make the greatest of matches can really surprise and delight each other because perhaps their moon signs are compatible.
Remember the moon is the hidden side of someone, the unconscious, the feelings, whereas the sun sign is the revealed side of someone and the conscious.
Ok so now we have the basics of how the moon signs work what we can also do is look to the Tarot for a little insight into our Libra and Pisces sun signs with their Pisces and Libra Moon Signs. What else do we need to know to help this connection be more harmonious:

So, what the Tarot is saying is that because you have a water sun sign that is more at home talking about feelings and emotions, and an Air sign that is more at home talking about all things logical, there still needs to be an element of patience when navigating a relationship between the two.
This is great though because with a little understanding and patience, this connection can be something very strong and balanced indeed. The trick is not to expect the other to communicate in the same way immediately. Patience is definitely a virtue with this combination of signs!
